Tens of thousands celebrated Yom Yerushalyim on Sunday, marking the 52nd Jerusalem Day – the liberation of the Holy City from Jordanian occupation during the June 1967 Six Day War.
Thousands upon thousands of flag-waving Israelis marched through Jerusalem on Sunday, which included passing through the Muslim Quarter of Jerusalem’s Old City – under heavy israeli security.
Jerusalem Day morning began with Palestinian violence, seeking to create a situation which will compel Israel Police to close Har Habayis site to non-Muslim visitors.
The violence included throwing rocks, bottles, chairs, and other objects. Jerusalem Police Chief Doron Yedid ordered police to move in and contain the rioting in in order to open Har Habayis to visitors as planned.
It is reported that 1,162 Jews visited Har Habayis on Sunday morning.
YWN NOTES: Gedolei Yisrael over the generations and the Chief Rabbinate of Israel prohibit visiting Har Habayis, which they explain carries the punishment of karess.

As the kipa sruga types have their celebration, let us not forget that it was the Israeli Zionists who lost Yerushalayim for the Jews in 1948, making its relevant later necessary after causing us 19 long years of not having access due to the Zionists.
made me very emotional just seeing all the young people proud and happy to thank haShem for His kindness in allowing us to come back home….
Yerushalayim is very much in exile.
If we forget, that is the worst part of Golus.
I am sure you were right there with them, fighting shoulder to shoulder against the jordanian legion.
Spoken like a true looser who has never done a thing to help another jew.
