In response to Chilul Shabbos and a breakdown of the religious status quo in Ramat Gan by the city’s mayor, Shama HaKohen, who plans to run public buses on Shabbos, Rishon L’Tzion Hagaon HaRav Yitzchak Yosef and Sephardi Gedolei HaTorah have released a kol korei addressing the worrisome Chilul Shabbos in the city. The Shas rabbonim who signed the kol korei include HaGaon HaRav Shimon Ba’adani and HaGaon HaRav Reuven Elbaz. In addition, the letter is signed by former Rishon L’Tzion HaGaon Rav Eliyahu Bakshi-Doron Jerusalem Chief Sephardi Rabbi HaGaon HaRav Shlomo Moshe Amar, Mekubal Rav David Batzri and HaGaon Rav Shlomo Ben-Shimon.
The rabbonim address the letter to residents of Ramat Gan and the gabbaim serving in the city’s shuls, to recite a special tefilla with the Aron Kodesh open towards the elimination of the “gezeira to uproot religion in the city”.

Don’t underestimate the totally unnecessary mass Chilul Shabbos for this ludicrous euro-vision, may well have had cosmic effect in necessitating this unprecedented election so soon again, and stymied Netanyohu from forming a new coalition.
