Amid the deadlocked coalition negotiations and the possibility of new elections, the chareidi parties on Monday morning informed Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu of their adamant objections to elections on gimmel Elul, which coincides with September 3, 2019. They explain this is because elections would interfere with the Elul zman in yeshivos.
KAN News reports that new elections would likely have been set for September 3rd, which is 3 Elul, and according to a Kikar Shabbos News report, the chareidi parties have already expressed objection to the date.
The report adds that if new elections are indeed required, an agreement has been reached to hold them a week earlier, on August 27, 2019, which corresponds to 26 Menachem Av or alternatively, immediately following the Tishrei Yomim Tovim.
