Undercover Border Police together with police forces in the Negev orchestrated a combined operation on foot as well as with vehicles that were both unmarked and marked in an effort to capture illegal Palestinian Aliens inside Israel near Tel Arad. The operation was aimed at preventing the continued entrance of illegal Palestinian migrants into Israel and their transportation around the country.
The officers noticed a suspicious van that was traveling at high speeds. Following an effort to stop the vehicle and the driver’s refusal to do so, police utilized special tactics that included setting up spikes on the road to stop the vehicle. In spite of the spikes, the vehicle kept driving, endangering the lives of all of the passengers stowed away inside as well as other drivers on the road.
During the chase that ensued, five suspects attempted to flee the vehicle on foot. They were all captured and arrested following a foot chase in the desert.
Following their capture and subsequent interrogation it was revealed that the driver was also illegally inside Israel. The car had a license plate that had been copied and a flashing red and blue light that was supposed to make it look like the vehicle belonged to security forces. While searching the vehicle, the police found toys that seemed like they were supposed to be used to be sold for profit.
In a similar operation, police apprehended an additional four illegal aliens in Israel following a short car chase that ended with a road closure. The illegal aliens all came from the Hevron area and numbered five adults and four unerae teenagers. Police have taken the suspects into custody.
