Deputy Health Minister Yaakov Litzman on Thursday afternoon spoke with the parents of the autistic youth who was brutally arrested by border police and sustained facial injuries as a result, as was documented on video.
Litzman inquired into the status of the traumatized youth, giving the parents a chizuk and promised the shocking incident will not be pushed aside until the guilty parties are held accountable.
“I informed the police that the documentation of the difficult event proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that is was an unnecessary attack involving abuse against a helpless victim. This is a serious case that cannot be ignored,” the deputy minister stressed in his discussion with the parents of the boy.
As reported by YWN-Israel, the autistic young man, who was brutally knocked to a sidewalk and held against his will by a policeman as he screamed for help, was eventually released after an official of Siach Sod and a social worker intervened on his behalf, explaining the young man is autistic.
