Shai (Shomron & Yehuda) district police and IDF forces continue their determined activity to locate and seize illegally held weapons and ammunition.

A short while ago, during joint routine operation, police and IDF forces from the Shomron Regional Command stopped a vehicle at the Tapuach Junction that raised their suspicions. An M-16 assault rifle and ammunition were found in the vehicle.

Two Palestinian suspects in their 20s were arrested for questioning.

The Police Spokesman Unit states, “Weapons that are illegally held are often used to carry out attacks, commit crimes, and commit violent acts. Therefore, the Israel Police and the security forces will continue their determined and uncompromising struggle and will work tirelessly in cooperation with all the relevant parties to reduce the scope of illegal weapons, all in order to protect the normative citizen and to allow a normal and safe routine for all Israeli citizens.”
