Israel Police on Monday morning released a Galil resident who admitted to have been involved in two murders that were perpetrated 45 years ago. The suspect will undergo professional evaluation during his release.

Police a week ago began the probe after receiving credible information pointing to a 70-year-old Galil resident in connection to two murders perpetrated 45 years ago.

The suspect’s remand was extended the next day by the court, which ordered a professional diagnosis, along with an investigation of his version by the investigators of the Central Unit.

As stated, at the end of his examination of his version against all the evidence in the case, it was decided in the light of the findings to complete the examination and not to request another extension of the suspect’s detention.

The case will be forwarded in the next few days for review and the decision of the State Attorney’s Office, as is customary.
