Reuven Ginzberg, the father of triplets born last week to he and his wife Devorah, whose children, Tzvi (2) and Efrat (4) perished in a fire in their Betar Illit home in October 2018, named his two new daughters.
On Monday morning, the girls were named during shachris, and the sisters are now called Miriam and Yehudis.
Reuven explained to Kikar Shabbos News that the name Miriam is derived from the Gemara Sota, which explains the meaning of the name “Efrat”, the name of his daughter who perished in the fire, is Miriam. The name Yehudis was selected to thank HKBH.
“We see here the hand of G-d’s providence,” Reuven father said. “Hkados Boruch Hu took Efrat and Tzvi (in the fire), and we did not understand it and we accepted it with love, and now a few months after the fire disaster he gave us something rare – three children, a son and two daughters.
“There is no other way to explain this except for G-d’s great providence and the kindness that He has done with us to heal our wounds and our pain.”
As for the bris for the other child born, the third, the family’s relatives explain that they are waiting for him to gain weight.
