Four fire and rescue teams from the Jerusalem stations, with the help of a rescue crane, responded to a Thursday morning fire in the Ministry of Education in Jerusalem, located on Dvora Hanevia Street.
The firefighters located the fire on the second floor in an electrical cabinet and the flames that came out of it caught the acoustic ceiling in the building, causing it to ignite as well. In addition, as a result of the burning of the electrical cabinet and the ceiling on the second floor, thick smoke spread into the building.
The firefighting and rescue teams, under the command of Rav-Reshef Shai Nechemia evacuated the building and B’chasdei Hashem, brought the fire under control while continuing to search for potential trapped persons, as well as preventing the spread of the blaze to the entire building. There were no reports of injuries.
