An agreement is in place to prevent the execution of a demolition order that was issued against the Imrei Shefer Shul just before Pesach, and a process has begun towards issuing the required permits.
According to Bentzi Lazerovich of Kol Chai Radio, the plan was finalized during a meeting held at the office of Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Eliezer Ruchberger, who holds the building & planning portfolio. Also attending were head city prosecutor Chaim Nergasi, Director of the Licensing & Supervision Division Ofir May, Director of the Religious Buildings Administration Rabbi Yitzhak Hanau and the Chairman of the shul’s administration, Rabbi Yaakov Spitzer.
The demolition orders do not pertain to the main building, which has been existence for years and continues to serve as a religious hub for the area, but an extension constructed a number of years ago.

The headline is very misleading and suggests that the entire shul was going to be demolished.
