SECURITY/DEFENSE:

*At least 15 Kassam rockets and 14 mortar rockets landed in the Greater Sderot area on Monday. Some victims were treated for hysteria. Property damage is reported.

*IDF removes another checkpoint, permitting free travel for PA residents between Shechem and Jenin. Yesha residents decried yet another move towards total abandonment of their basic security needs. The move is part of ongoing goodwill measures by Israel towards the PA.

*An IDF soldier was lightly wounded by shrapnel in anti-tank rocket attack near Erez, in northern Gaza.

*IAF targets terrorists in Gaza during late afternoon injuring at least three.

*IDF: In all likelihood, an explosion in a Gaza home that killed a number of people was caused by air force striking terrorists in the area, igniting large quantity of explosives in their possession.

POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:

*Yisrael Beitenu head Avigdor Lieberman announced he has been the subject of a police witch hunt for 12 year, the target of numerous police investigations – accusing police of marking him for political reasons, citing he has never been found guilty of a crime.

*Border policeman Yanai Lalza on Monday was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison for the 2000 death of an Arab male thrown from a jeep.

*Israel: UN forces in southern Lebanon turning a blind eye to ongoing Hizbullah violations of ceasefire as per Resolution 1701.

*Protest vigil tent established outside official Presidential Residence in Jerusalem on behalf of Jonathan Pollard. Some participants will also observe a hunger strike.

*MK (Ra’am-Ta’al) Ibrahim Sarsur stated on Monday that Israel is “competing with the Nazis” in his remarks regarding PA claims that IDF tank fire killed a Gazan women and her children.
