A deal was signed between Shas party representatives in Elad and Mayor Yisrael Porush, bringing Shas into the coalition running the city. The agreement was signed after months of Shas remaining in opposition but changed position after some of the Degel Hatorah councilman decided to enter the coalition as well.

According to the agreement signed, a Shas councilman will serve as a deputy mayor in the city as well as the party receiving a number of other appointments.

It is pointed out that Tzuriel Krisfel resigned from the city council and as head of Shas about a week ago, clearing the way for the agreement.
