The two-year-old boy who drowned in a vacation bungalow in Tzefas on Shabbos was reported in “very serious” condition by officials in Ziv Hospital, where he remains in a pediatric intensive care unit. Chief of the ICU, Dr. Hillel Frenkental reported that doctors and nurses “continue fighting for his life as he is given constant life support care. He remains in life-threatening danger and his parents do not leave his bedside.”
The doctor adds that the child’s condition is very serious and unstable, and it is too early to determine if he sustained permanent neurological damage as a result of remaining under water for a prolonged period. He adds the parents are uninterested in being interviewed by the press.
