Major General Kamil Abu-Rokun who heads the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) division in the military announced that as of tomorrow Israel will no longer be allowing gasoline to enter into Gaza through the Kerem Shalom crossing.
It was reported in Israeli media that on the first day of the renewed conflict, Israel allowed 17 gasoline tankers to transport fuel into Gaza. The combined total of the fuel that went into the strip was 650,000 liters in just that day.
According to an article that appeared in Ha’aretz, the fuel was being transferred while Hamas was shooting rockets at the checkpoint itself and the workers at the checkpoint were forced to take cover in protective shelters. Only one truck turned around and refused to enter the strip.
