A ring of car thieves was caught red handed by Jerusalem police during the weekend when they were stopped driving a stolen vehicle, which was taken from the capital.
In a covert operation by police detectives during the weekend, the police uncovered a squad of three suspects who specialize in car theft, two of them traveling in a vehicle with which they arrived, and the third in the stolen vehicle, which was taken just minutes before being apprehended.
The policemen were positioned at calculated road inspection points and arrested the occupants of the two vehicles near the village of Hizme, adjacent to Pisgat Ze’ev.
In the search conducted by the police in vehicles, burglary tools and other means of stealing cars such as a computer were found.
The suspects are residents of the PA (Palestinian Authority) and East Jerusalem, all males in their 20s. Their detention was extended by the Jerusalem Magistrate Court until Monday, May 6th, at which time they will be arraigned again, or a criminal indictment will be filed against them.
