IDF Givati infantry soldiers entered the Beit Hanoun area of northern Gaza on Monday as efforts to halt rocket attacks into southern Israel continue.
Two soldiers were injured in the fighting on Monday morning, with one listed in moderate condition.
PA sources report seven dead, a mother and her five children, reporting an IDF tank shell slammed into her home. Using the fighting to legitimize the launch of a number of rockets into southern Israel, terrorists on Monday morning fired at least 14 rockets into Israel, with one striking a home, resulting in significant property damage. Another landed near a school. An unspecified number of people were treated for hysteria following the attacks.
Magen David Adom officials have moved to a level III alert status in the area, expecting an increase in rocket attacks as a result of the fighting in Beit Hanoun.
