YWN-Israel regrets to inform you of the petira of HaGaon HaRav Yeshayahu Kravitz ZT”L of the Ezras Torah neighborhood of Jerusalem, a known talmid chacham, who was niftar on Thursday morning, May 2, 2019, in Shaare Zedek Hospital at the age of 68 after difficult yisurim.

The niftar was born in Bnei Brak to his father Rav Shaul Kravitz ZT”L, who was a known talmid of HaGaon HaRav Elchanan Wasserman HY”D. He learned in Ponevezh during his youth, and later became close to Rosh Yeshivas Eitz Chaim HaGaon Rav Avraham Yaakov Zlaznik ZT”L, a member of the Degel Hatorah Moetzas Gedolei Torah.

The niftar was known for being a symbol and an example of simplicity and modesty, along with the strict observance of the most minute detail of mitzvos, even in the days when he suffered bitter agony, remaining with his belief that everything was a bracha from H’.

The funeral procession began on Thursday at 1:30 PM from the Beis Yisrael Shul in the Ezras Torah neighborhood of Jerusalem and at 3:30 PM, kvura in the Ponevezh Cemetery in Bnei Brak.
