Israel traffic police, in cooperation with the units of the Traffic Department, the Ministry of Transportation, the Environment, the IDF, Military Police, Hovercraft and a Helicopter, joined the fight to reduce road accidents and to enforce targeted offenses.
As of Sunday, April 28, 2019, a large-scale traffic operation was conducted on Highway 60 in Yehuda and Shomron, aimed at increasing enforcement against drivers committing life-threatening offenses.
609 summonses were recorded, 11 drivers had their license suspended, 26 vehicles were disabled, 58 summonses were issued for speeding, 51 summonses for use of cell phones, 137 illegal passing of failing to remain in a lane, 85 summonses for failure to use seat belts, 59 summonses reports on restraint devices (car seats), 69 summonses for overweight or illegal cargo. 66 vehicles were removed from the road due to defects.
