A Bernie Sanders’ adviser was enraged by a video of US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman asking Hagaon HaRav Berel Povarsky for a Bracha for President Donald Trump’s re-election.
Matt Duss, a foreign policy adviser for the Jewish Senator from Vermont, took exception to the video which was recently posted to Twitter.
In hebrew, Friedman tells the Ponovez Rosh Yeshiva that Trump must win “because what we see on the other side is very frightening.”
To which Duss responded: “Imagine the response if an American ambassador asked an ayatollah to bless Trump’s defeat.”
As reported on YWN, Friedman visited Hagaon Harav Chaim Kanivsky and the Ponvoez Roshei Yeshiva on Chol Hamoed Pesach.

Someone should respond to Matt Duss, 2 very different things, publicly asking for a bracha and asking a religious figure to give a curse. If only the ayotallas would give blessings to American heads of state!
It shows Sanders, in spite of being a self-proclaimed socialist, is Jewish enough to understand what was going on.
Ambassadors are prohibited from engaging in political activity since they represent the whole of the country (Democrats as well as Republicans, the Congress as well as the Executive branch), and not one party.
Equating a erudite Rabbi with a bloody Ayatollah?? I guess some people really can’t tell the difference between Good and Evil.
I now understand what Mr Friedman is afraid of on the other side…
The Rosh Yeshiva’s reply to Friedman’s request for a blessing is very interesting … “Everything is from heaven.” Friedman then says: “Yes, but help us a little. You’re closer to heaven than we are.” Everyone laughs. It does not appear that the rosh yeshiva gave the bracha.
Sanders is a rasha.
Baruch Hashem for Ambassador Friedman and his boss President Trump.
Genius. If that Wicked ayatollah would give a blessing for Trump to lose, then Trump would most certainly win.
Bernie Sanders is scared as he realizes the potency of this brocho!
If Sanders and his people now believe in HaShem that’s a major improvement. Why else would they expect a beracha to work?

Spot on!
Equating a blessing to a curse for the other side is the same in the eyes of a goy!
It wasn’t Sanders himself, but the fact that he won’t speak up when one of his minions equates a holy, peace-loving Jewish Rabbi to a murderous, terror-supporting ayatollah tells us Jews of the world enough about his character.
As coffee addict points out, these guys twist everything, such as by equating a blessing to a curse. I will state the obvious that should not really need to be stated. The topic chosen was U.S. ambassador, so does it make a difference as to the disloyalty shown if the ambassador would ask openly for his own boss to be cursed by anyone else beside the Ayatollah, like by the Pope or by Mother Teresa or by Mahatma Ghandi?
RAM500 – “If Sanders and his people now believe in HaShem that’s a major improvement. Why else would they expect a beracha to work?”
Essov HaRasha also believed in the brochos of Yitzchok Avinu – that is no improvement.
zcs – “Bernie Sanders is scared as he realizes the potency of this brocho!”
Just as Essov HaRasha realized the potency of Yitzchok’s brochas. So what?
A well-known rasha said, “Just because I am a rasha doesn’t mean that I am stupid.”

I don’t know.
Maybe Mr duss can tell me ,what would be the response if a president went to a terrorist for a blessing ?
such as let’s say for example
a reverend Wright or a William Ayers ?
I don’t know .
what would be the reaction to such a thing ?
