PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) left Washington following a meeting with US President George W. Bush empty handed, with the American leader rejecting his demand for a total Israeli withdrawal to the pre-June 1967 boundaries, the division of Jerusalem and the right of so-called Palestinian refugees to return to Israel.

The PA leader signaled that Yasser Arafat during the 2002 Camp David II talks with then Prime Minister Ehud Barak rejected a more liberal deal than Israel is currently offering and he is unwilling to accept anything less than Arafat.
