During the funeral procession of the late Kaliver Rebbe, it was announced by the head of Kol Menachem of Kaliv Institute Rabbi Yitzchak Bronstein, that according to the will of the late Rebbe, his grandson would take over his position as head of the Chassidus.

Rav Yisroel Mordechai Yoel Horowitz, will now take upon himself the mantle of being the new Kaliver Rebbe and manage all of the institutions that the late Rebbe built.

Rabbi Bronstein read from the will: “I ask to appoint my grandson, who is dedicated to all of the ways of Kaliv, Rabbi Yisroel Mordechai Horowitz shlita to fill my place as the leader of the Chassidus, and I ask that all of my students and friends stand at his right hand and continue to strengthen the holy academies and works that I have sacrificed my life to build. I will champion you and those of your household.”

The new Rebbe, the son of Rav Chaim Shlomo Horowitz, is only 28-years-old and serves as the head of the Shufira D’Yerushalayim Kollels that are run by Kaliv and are spread across the country. He is the son-in-law of Rabbi Refael Rosenberg who is the son-in-law of the Kaliver Rebbe ZATZAL.

Rabbi Yisroel Mordechai dedicated his time and energy to serving his grandfather for the past few years and worked to assist the late Rebbe with all of the work and foundations under his auspices. While the late Rebbe was alive he said that Rav Yisroel Mordechai would take his place after he was Niftar, and his will confirmed the decision.
