White House Opposed Striking Syrian Nuclear Facility

nuclear3.jpgAs America slowly releases additional information surrounding the Sept. 2007 bombing of a Syrian nuclear facility by Israel, it is being learned that the bold decision to launch the aerial assault was made by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Defense Minister Ehud Barak, against the will of the White House.

In high level briefings, detailed intelligence data was presented to the most senior American officials, who hoped to use the information to apply unprecedented political pressure on Syria, but in Jerusalem, the decision was made to strike before it was too late, despite American not giving the green light as believed.

In Jerusalem, leaders felt they are not seeking nor require American approval, moving ahead with the bold mission which achieved its mission.

While touring Ofakim on Saturday night, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert stated that today, Israel has leaders who truly look out for her security, and this is more apparent than ever before, hinting to his tenacious approach to bombing the Syrian facility, opposing sanctions which to date have failed miserably regarding Iran.
