A chareidi family was rescued by the naval patrol after being caught in distress in their boat off the coast of Ashdod. The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon when Lachish naval police near Ashdod noticed a boat with people on board appeared in distress.
The family was in a rented boat and they explained the engine stalled and they were unable to get it to start again. There were two adults and four children ages 6 to 7 on board the boat. Marine patrol officials noticed the vessel was drifting dangerously close to a breakwater.
B’chasdei Hashem, the marine patrol acted swiftly and professionally, and once it was realized the boat was heading for the breakwater, they wasted no time to rescue the boat, which was towed into the Post of Ashdod.
At the end of the event, one of the persons rescued asked the commander of the team for his phone number and then sent him pictures from the rescue and wrote to him: “Thank you very much Albert and Yaniv and the marine police. Yasher Koach!”
