Water Authority Update on the Kinneret

The level of the Kinneret on Thursday morning, April 11, 2019, stood at minus 211.59, an increase of 1.5cm (0.59 inches) from Wednesday. The Kinneret is still in need of 2.79 meters (9.15 feet) to its full mark.

B’chasdei Hashem, the current level is 1.42 meters (4.69 feet) from the Lower Red Line as there has been significant rainfall this season, and the northern nachals continue feeding the Kinneret at this time.

The Water Authority experts explain that “during the summer, the level of the Kinneret falls about 1.5 meters – regardless of the amount of water pumped from the lake – only as a result of evaporation, so we are expected to return toward the end of the summer to the lower red line, and no one knows how the next winter will be.”
