Following a growing number of complaints from competitors Israir and Arkia airlines, El Al may lose the exclusive right to inspect passengers in Ben-Gurion International Airport, a long-standing policy that may now come to an end.
Transportation officials are now weighing handing over the responsibility for security here and abroad to a new force that would operate under the auspices of the Ministry of Transportation.
