MK Yair Lapid, one of the leaders of the Blue and White party, said Monday that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is trying to get seats for the Likud from the right-wing parties, and therefore the real war is who will be the largest party. Lapid is not considering giving up the rotation between him and Benny Gantz for the premiership, if a Blue and White party establishes the next government.
“Netanyahu now brings seats from right-wing parties and the war is really who will be the biggest party,” says Lapid. “If we are in a gap of four or five seats, there is no power in the world that will stop us from forming the next government,” he added.
When asked about giving up on the rotation between him and Gantz to become prime minister, Lapid responded, “It does not move a quarter of a mandate if I agree to give up the rotation. It is simply a spin that the Labor Party invented because Gabbai is trying to steal votes from us, if we are not the biggest party there will not be anyone to go with.”
