  1. The article is vague, and I have no idea what “Vaad Mor-Yosef” is. But as a government, the government has to respect every citizen’s right not to be discriminated against in regards to any and all government institutions. There is no such concept possible such as to pass laws to criminalizing behaviour just because the Torah deems the behaviour punishable. Such punishment was meant to be administered by a duly constitute Sanhedrin with authentic smicha. Thus such criminalizing is reserved to for the government of Moshiach. In fact, asking for such a thing now borders on treating this as if it was the Moshiach. It is comparable to building on the Temple Mount and offering the list of sacrifices from the Torah. Such things are reserved for Moshiach age.

The problem I see is that what should be simple non-discrimination turns into actual pandering. That is a completely different matter, and I see nothing here that looks like pandering.

  2. Folks like georgeg would like to permit walking naked in the streets, since he doesn’t want morality enacted into law. Good people would like to see the crime of sodomy carry capital punishment under the law.

You have no idea who I am. But to my point, any legal citizen who passes the requirements for, example, a drivers license, must be given the drivers license without discrimination. So from your post it would seems that you would require a heterosexuality test before issuing the driver’s license? In fact, it seems you would require a heterosexuality just to allow someone to remain among the living altogether. Please supply your credentials as G-d’s emissary, judge, jury and executioner.

  4. Ok, this story was poorly translated from Hebrew, and is factually incorrect.

Vaadat Mor-Yosef was a committee established in 2010 to discuss surrogacy and other child bearing related matters.

Ayelet Shaked said that she would support legislation for members of the LBGTQ+ community in Israel to adopt children via surrogacy.

  5. There’s a “toeiva guy” (mayor of South Bend, IN) running for president in the US. Were here to win the presidency (and that isn’t so far fetched) it won’t be a question of a politician supporting a community. The president of the United States is that community Whether we like it it not, this may just happen. What would we tell our kids when there president who is “married” to another man? What is the Torah true attitude? I don’t know. Anyone has an opinion?

  6. Pirke Avos, Perek 3.2 “Rabbi Chanina son of Tradyon would say: Two who sit and no words of Torah pass between them, this is a session of scorners, as is stated, “And in a session of scorners he did not sit” (Psalms 1:1). ”
    So the government is invalid.

  7. Georgeg, sorry, but you are wrong. Your ideas are based on the contemporary liberal ideas — and not on what the Torah says. We are not give recognition or encouragement to these transgressors. Ujm was not talking about executing anyone.

  8. Both Georgeg and Spectrum are right.

The Mor-Yosef Committee had nothing to do with supporting LBTQ+ rights.

YWN, either you need a better translator or you’re intentionally misreporting. Which is it?
