The fifth installment of the Charedi Patrol training course graduated on Thursday with 21 new graduates. The participants are carrying out their mandatory service via the police instead of the military.
The course took a total of eight weeks, during which the newly minted officers took weapons training, protocol taining, and gaining tools that will enable them to deal with situations in the field that they will come up against.
The course was led by Superintendent Shlomo Sitton, who heads the Charedi Integration Program together with course commander Chief Inspector Yoav Cohen and the training officers. The new cadets, some of whom are married with children, come from the Charedi community and will join police stations across the country where there is a large Charedi populace.
Their responsibilities will include responding to emergency calls and serving and protecting the citizens in these neighborhoods.

Sounds so similar to how under Jim Crow, American police forces would hire “colored” police to patrol their own parts of town.
oy vey!
Do these poor souls realize that they will be the new “nazis” and “chardakim”?
If I were them, I’d PAY to be placed in non-chareidi areas. At least I know I’ll come home safely every night.
This is a milder version of the shmad.
It is good to see Charadim maintain their charadi lifestyles as they integrate into the Israeli work force. I hope they are able to influence their secular workers to try a shabbat or kashrut or ????
