A chareidi family from the center of the country traveling north of a Chol Hamoed day of rest was injured when a truck smashed into their vehicle near the entrance to Yesod Ha’Ma’aleh in the Galil, about 30 minutes south of Kiryat Shmona.
A 6-month-old infant was critically injured, her mother and sister moderately and the father sustained light injuries. Hatzolah members delivered initial care on the scene and the infant was flown by MDA chopper to the trauma unit of Haifa’s Rambam Medical Center. The others were transported by ambulance to Rivka Ziff Hospital in Tzfat.
The accident occurred on Route 90, the area’s major thoroughfare, on Tuesday at about 13:30.
