There was a water alert for Modi’in Illit on Tuesday morning, April 2, 2019, with residents of the chareidi city instructed to boil tap water before drinking it until the alert is called off.

A routine test of the city’s water found it contained an unacceptable level of contaminants and was not potable. Officials reported the level of bacteria was unacceptably high. Residents were instructed to phone the city’s hotline 107 number from inside the city for updates on the situation.

The ‘all clear’ was given by the Health Ministry at about 2:00 PM, permitting residents to drink tap water without boiling once again.
