VIDEO: Ramle Currency Forgery Operation Raided By Police


Police working with agents of the department’s Lahav 443 Serious Crimes Unit, raided a currency forgery operation in Ramle during the predawn hours of Tuesday, April 2, 2091.

Police report that the raid resulted in the arrests of six suspects, as well as the detention of three others later on. They are all allegedly linked to a forgery operation producing NIS 100 and 200 notes.

As the raid and arrests took place, other officers entered the homes of the suspects looking for other evidence in the case. The suspects were arraigned in the Rishon L’Tzion Magistrate Court.

In response to the report, Bank of Israel CEO Chezi Kalo said, “We see great importance in the increased enforcement efforts of the police against currency forgers and welcome the significant achievement of the police, and the Bank of Israel is calling on the public to check the security signs in order to avoid receiving counterfeits. Information on the signs of security appearing on Bank of Israel currency notes appear in the accompanying video.
