While Hamas after Shabbos fired five additional rockets at Israel, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Sunday announced the opening of the Erez and Kerem Shalom crossings from southern Israel to Gaza.
Once again Egypt is been involved and an understanding or a truce has been reached between Israel and Hamas. This has resulted in Israel once again ordering the opening of the Gaza crossings. In the framework of the latest agreement with Hamas, the terrorist organization has undertaken to ensure there were no longer be incendiary balloons and kites launched over the border towards Israel.
Prime Minister Netanyahu used his Facebook page to update on the situation, stating that while Israel welcomes the calm, it remains ready for any and every eventuality.
It has also been reported that Hamas forces were out in large number on Friday to create a barrier between the tens of thousands of protesters in southern Gaza and the Israeli border, by and large preventing some 40,000 protesters from reaching the fence as they hoped to do to mark one year since the start of the weekly Friday protests along the fence.
