HaGaon HaRav Meir Mazuz Shlita, Rosh Yeshivat Kisei Rachamim during his weekly shiur addressed the decision of the Yachad party dropping out of the election and to throw its support behind Yahadut Hatorah. The rav explained that this is due to his awareness of the left-wing and those wishing to uproot Torah, those “who don’t have Shabbos and Yom Kippur. Nothing! Therefore, it is prohibited to vote for Gantz or Lapid and all of those people”, the rav added.

Rabbi Mazuz then explained why specifically Gimmel, Yahadut Hatorah, detailing “they are concerned with Torah and are Mekadesh Hashem. Even the secular respect them and it was recently reported the most popular minister is Yaakov Litzman. Even the seculars realize when they see if one knows how to insist on his truth, they respect him.”

Regarding Shas, Rav Mazuz explained he didn’t have an alternative since “Shas was angry with us and vetoed every move we made. If they veto, they are permitted for they are Shas. But when they go to Bibi and use the veto, this is not a Torah way to fight. Their veto was B’ezras Hashem annulled on veto day, showing the gematria of veto in Hebrew is 21, and their announcement was made on 21 Adar II and this time around, they are backing Yahadut Hatorah.
