Thousands of Beit Shemesh homes were without water early Thursday morning due to a burst water main. The main line broke during the morning hours, leaving many without water in neighborhoods around the city. Areas without water include Rama Aleph, Rama Gimmel, and the Mishkafayim neighborhood.
Water company employees were dispatched immediately but work on such a large line takes time. At about midday on Thursday, there was hope that water service would be restored in about four hours.
Water trucks and tanks were being sent to the areas impacted by the outage to offer residents some relief.

We got water from the truck. It was clearly not drinking water, it was sandy & dirty. If they are going to provide water, at least make it clean. It was only fit for flushing the toilet. BH we had bottled water & they fixed the problem by lunchtime.
