Mrs. Adina Bar Shalom Throws Her Support Behind The Kulanu Party

Mrs. Adina Bar Shalom, daughter of Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef ZT”L and head of the “Achi Yisrael” party, has announced she is endorsing Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon and his Kulanu party.

“I believe in all of our party and in its social way, Minister Moshe Kahlon is the most social minister ever in Israel, and I see myself committed to the success of Kulanu in the upcoming election for 21st Knesset and calling on all my colleagues to support the party.”

“Kulanu as a social party has championed the value of equality of opportunity for everyone in Israeli society, and certainly for the chareidi society, which is growing twice as fast as the rest of the population”.

“Kulanu believes in the need to provide higher education accessible to the chareidi public, and for this purpose the need to encourage and establish chareidi colleges for boys and girls who want to join the labor force and acquire required professions in the Israeli economy,” Bar Shalom explains to the media.

She further explains that in coalition talks to form the next government, Kulanu will be calling for funding for chareidi education and the establishment of a college for chareidim in Jerusalem in line with state regulation. Her goal is the opening of such a college within a year from the day the government approves it, to accommodate 1000 students, and that number must increase to 5000 in the first five years.

Bar Shalom is quite experienced in this area, having launched Israel’s first recognized college for chareidi women.

  1. She’s very courageous. It takes courage to go against the flow and start something new. This is something so necessary. She’s trying to help expand opportunities for chareidim to make a parnassa with dignity, while keeping them comfortable and protected against outside influences. There’s a silent cry for help that only some very special people will take on and do something about it while knowing that they will be criticized and belittled. Kol hakavod to her.

  2. UJM: If you are seeking to identify true meshugaas, look at the backward platforms advocated by MK candidates running on the “Religious Party” slates. They would mindlessly follow the restrictive views that make it difficult for frum young women to pursue an advanced education and help earn a good parnassah for their families. Kol hakovod to her and hopefully Kulanu candidates will be sucessful in two weeks.
