Undoubtedly, we remember the situation during the tenure of US President Barack Obama, and how Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was shunned and even embarrassed at times. Tensions between Washington and Jerusalem reached an unprecedented high according to critics.
This Likud election campaign video reminds viewers to one such White House visit by Netanyahu, showing just how bold a leader he is and how he was willing to “tell it like it is”. Clearly, the US leader was fuming, outraged at the conduct of the visiting state leader.
Even opponents of Netanyahu have been recently quoted saying that “no one knows how to campaign like Bibi”, a polished veteran statesman who is more often than not, way ahead of his opponents regarding campaigning.
That said, the popularity of Benny Gantz, the former IDF chief of staff and political newcomer seems to have shifted the popular vote in his favor, with latest polls showing Gantz’s Blue and White party ahead of Likud by two seats. Nevertheless, it does not appear that Gantz will succeed in establishing a coalition government even if given the presidential mandate to do just that. This will depend on the chareidi parties and their proclaimed loyalty to PM Netanyahu.
