In response to the news that Hamas will permit a second letter to the family from captive soldier Gilad Shalit, family members state that nothing developed following the first letter, which arrived about six months ago.
One family member stated “we expected more from Carter’s visit.” He added that even if they receive a letter, until Israel exhibits a willingness to release terrorists, Gilad will not be released.
Gilad has been in Hamas custody for 667 days, taken captive on June 25, 2006.
