Machlokes can lead to strange coalition partners and perhaps seeing MK (Yahadut Hatorah) Moshe Gafne and MK (Meretz) Zahava Gal-On working together might qualify as such a partnership.
While the arrangement for many is beyond the imaginable, as the chareidim and left-wing realize the harsh financial realities associated with the state budget, they appear willing to place differences aside for the common good.
On Wednesday morning, Gafne and Gal-On held a joint press conference to explain their alternate fiscal plan, which they believe is more sound than Finance Minister (Yesh Atid) Yair Lapid’s plan. The two, veteran MKs, are confident their plan can deliver the cost-saving measures the government seeks without delivering a fatal blow to the lower and working class citizens.
Prior to announcing their plan, Gafne and Gal-On gave the plan to a number of economic experts for approval, and they are confident their plan can bring the economic rehabilitation required while avoiding the harsh decrees contained in Lapid’s budget.

Hopefully Aguada, Degel, Meretz, the Arab parties and the rest of the opposition will topple the government and sign a peace treaty with Abbas giving them the West Bank and Gaza.

I can’t wait to see the Gafne and Gal-On plan for Chareidi job training and incorporation in to the workforce.
All kidding aside, perhaps if the Chareidi parties would provide an alternative plan for Army Service, Job intergration, and allevation of poverty the Lapid plan would have the wind taken out of its sails.
There is nothing STRANGE about hareidim and leftists working together on economic matters. They have always agreed on economics. No hiddush.
They might cooperate on national security if the left decides that it wants to oppose all conscription (hint: many leftists also don’t want to be in the army), and the hareidim have always valued peace over territory (and it will be hard to forget that the Dati Leumi stabbed the hareidim in the back).
So now it is muttar to work with people who hate The Torah if money is involved?
