About a week after being eliminated by IDF Special Forces who were trying to take him into custody, his family was informed the home of the terrorist responsible for the fatal attack at Ariel Junction will be destroyed.

On Tuesday, March 26, 2019, the family of Omar Abu Leila, 19, was officially notified by the IDF that the apartment in which the terrorist lived would be destroyed.

The attack occurred about a week and a half ago, beginning at Ariel Junction and continuing at Avishar Junction. The terrorist succeeded in fleeing but was eventually located, about two days later, and surrounded by troops during the manhunt. He resisted arrest and opened fire at the members of the elite unit and was eliminated by their return fire.

Killed in that attack were IDF soldier 19-year-old Lt. Gal Keidan HY”D of Be’er Sheva and 47-year-old Rabbi Achiad Ettinger HY”D of Yishuv Eli. Rav Ettinger was a rosh yeshiva in southern Tel Aviv and he was married and the father of 12.
