During a speech at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s (AIPAC) annual conference in Washington on Monday, Vice President Mike Pence addressed the most recent outbreak of violence in Israel, which Pence said “proves that Hamas is not a partner for peace.”

“Hamas is a terrorist organization that seeks the destruction of Israel, and the United States will never negotiate with terrorist Hamas,” said the vice president, who also criticized four Democrats running to unseat Trump in 2020 for skipping the event.

“Anyone who aspires to the highest office in the land should not be afraid to stand with the strongest supporters of Israel in America,” Pence said. “It is wrong to boycott Israel and it is wrong to boycott AIPAC.”

The vice president also criticized Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) without naming her, saying: “Anti-Semitism has no place in the Congress of the United States, and any member who slanders those who support the historic alliance between the United States and Israel with such rhetoric should not have a seat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.”

Those remarks referenced statements made by Omar earlier this year, when she accused pro-Israel politicians of leading a “push for allegiance to a foreign country.” That inflammatory statement came just a few weeks after she implied on Twitter that supporters of the Jewish state were “all about the Benjamins, baby.”

  1. To my regret he is out of touch. The “young people” he talks about don’t care that Israel is still under threat. They are glad Israel is under threat because they don’t want Israel to exist at all ! And a lot of these people belong to Schumers Democrat party and sit next to him every day. Mr. Schumer, where was your voice after Ilan Omar made her now famous comment about Jews like you ? You sat silently. So why should we care what you have to say when you stand on the stage of APAIC to make nice speeches ?! Jews who care about Israel will be voting Republican from now on in a large measure because of Jews like Chuck Schumer who give lip service to Israel but sit back while her enemies pounce.

  2. It was a real pleasure listening to Vice President Pence, a true friend of Israel and he always was. We need more people like him and President Trump in the United States. We have enough enemies of Israel in Congress.
