IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi decided to bring his family to an IDF base in the Gaza area, opting to spend Seder night with soldiers rather than in the safety of his home.

The IDF commander stated that it was the correct thing to do, explaining with the current escalation in warfare along the Gaza border, he deemed spending Seder with his wife and soldiers was the best possibility.
