The bomb squad was summoned shortly after noon on Monday, March 25, 2019, in the Lachish district, as balloons were detected near the railroad tracks in the Kiryat Gat area of the Lachish district.

Police determined the balloons were indeed incendiary devices launched from Gaza and they praised the vigilance of citizens to phoned and warned against anyone touching balloons found out in those areas.

Kiryat Gat is in the southern area of Israel, some 56km (34 miles) south of Tel Aviv and 43km (26 miles) north of Be’er Sheva.
