New Right party chairman, Minister Naftali Bennet, feels that the operation during Operation Protective Edge in Gaza in 2014, in which Major Benaya Sarel HY”D and Lt. Hadar Goldin HY”D were killed, was the fault of overly-strict open fire orders by then Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon, who holds the third slot on the Blue and White party list. Benny Gantz, the party’s leader, was IDF chief of staff during Operation Protective Edge.

Sarel and Goldin were killed in the same operation and Hamas grabbed the body of Goldin and Sgt. Shaul Oren HY”D, who was killed in another incident.

Bennet on Sunday released statements blaming these events on the open-fire orders, which led to soldiers hesitating before opening fire.

In the video above, Ya’alon fires back at Bennet: “Naftali Bennet, how much can you lie on the blood of soldiers. This is the same irresponsible fashion in which you acted in Operation Protective Edge and the same way you are acting of late. You are a member of the cabinet. You leak information from within and then criticize decisions you are a part of, and you dance on the blood of soldiers. I do not understand how you lie and think you will receive votes from the nationalist camp. We don’t build leadership on lies. You should be ashamed of yourself!”
