A high-ranking Israeli official has confirmed that Israel has opened 11 investigations into the deaths of Palestinians along the Israeli-Gaza border as of Wednesday.
The investigations will be looking into the deaths that occured as part of the weekly riots at the hands of Israeli security forces. The official said that these investigations are opened regularly whenever there is a doubt as to the proper conduct of soldiers in the field.
An IDF spokesperson confirmed that the investigations are taking place.
Among the cases being investigated are the deaths of Abed al-Nabi and three other Palestinians that took place on March 30th 2018, the day that the weekly riots began.
Another investigation is surrounding the deaths of three Palestinians which occurred east of Jabalia on April 20th, 2018. Other investigations include the deaths of two Palestinians east of Bureij on May 15th, 2018, the death of Rajan al-Najar on November 1st, 2018, and the death of Uthman Halas which took place on July 13th, 2018.
