The latest election poll released by Yediot Achronot, on Sunday morning, March 10, 2019, shows that the Blue and White party headed by Benny Gantz, continues to lose momentum as the right-wing coalition remains ahead, albeit by a very slight majority of 61 to 59. The poll was conducted by Midgam Institute headed by Mina Tzemach and Mano Geva.
According to the poll, the Blue and White party earns 33 seats, while the Likud headed by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has 29 seats.
The Labor party headed by Avi Gabbai received 10 seats, and Hadash/Ta’al receive 7 seats.
Regarding the chareidi parties, Yahadut Hatorah received 7 seats and Shas 6 seats.
The United Right-Wing headed by Rabbi Rafi Peretz and MK Betzalel Smotrich received 6 seats and the New Right headed by Naftali Bennet and Ayelet Shaked received 5 seats.
Meretz headed by Tamar Zandberg received 5 seats and Kulanu, Yisrael Beitenu and Ra’am/Ta’al are all on the border of the 4-seat minimum.
The Zehut party of Moshe Feiglin received 3.1%, the Gesher party of Orli Abekasis-Levi 2%, and the Yachad party of Eli Yishai 1.5%. A party requires 3.2% to enter Knesset.
If Feiglin enters Knesset, former MK Rabbi Chaim Amsellem returns to Knesset as he is in the second slot on the Zehut list.
The poll also asked who is most suited to serve as prime minister. Binyamin Netanyahu received 38% and Benny Gantz 34%.
Interestingly, 53% of respondents believe Netanyahu will not be the person forming the next coalition government.
The poll adds that 46% of the Israel public believe in the attorney general and state prosecutor regarding the suspicions against Prime Minister Netanyahu while 32% feel they are acting out of non-professional motives and their own agenda.
