One of the issues that have the Chareidim more than a bit concerned is the possibility of a Blue & White party headed by Benny Gantz/Yair Lapid winning the elections and forming the next coalition government; and what will happen regarding the drafting of chareidim?
With 38 days to elections for 21st Knesset, the party on Sunday announced it was adopting the draft law that was approved by former IDF Chief Eizenkott and the Defense Ministry. The plan was formulated with the assistance of the IDF during the tenure of former Defense Minister, Avigdor Lieberman.
The existing draft of the law is not acceptable to the chareidi lawmakers, who for one thing oppose the clause that if draft quotas are not met in the current years, financial sanctions will be taken against yeshivos – state aid to those yeshivos will be cut. At a later date, if quotas are not met, the situation may lead to harsher sanctions involving criminal proceedings.
Degel Hatorah and Shas worked hard to formulate an amended plan during the outgoing administration, with the feeling going to new elections will not result in a better draft law than they could pass in the current government, but Agudas Yisrael was not on board, and in fact, Deputy Minister Yaakov Litzman insisted on new elections.

With the high birth rate of the Chareidim, all they need to do is show up and and vote. Then they won’t have to worry about blue and white and any of the parties that want to impose ideas that are an antithesis to Yiddishkeit. But of course a large swath of Chareidim will boycott the elections because of there opposition to the medinah. Then there will be all these stupid protests when the leftists take over. How sad and how predictable.
The fact that the leftish media could post headlines such as these [this is from a week ago before the latest developments]:
Vivian Bercovici: With Netanyahu looking corrupt and detached, Israel’s centre sees chance to take power
This election is a contest between two sharply competing visions for Israel. Many consider it to be the state’s most important election ever
Even though it’s pretty well known that there isn’t much daylight between Gantz/Lapid &co. vs Netanyahu on Security, ought to prove to all who are religious or positively traditional, how potentially scary this election options may well be.
Try to envision the first months of post election alternatives.
