B’chasdei Hashem, alert border police at the Kalandia Checkpoint along Jerusalem’s northern border, on Sunday afternoon, apprehended a PA (Palestinian Authority) resident, a female resident of Ramallah, who was concealing a knife.
When she was stopped for inspection, the knife seen in the accompanying photo was found in her handbag. She was taken into custody without incident.
In a second incident on Sunday, the border policemen at the checkpoint read the body language of the suspect, a female resident of Shechem, realizing she was unusually nervous, stopping her for inspection as she was going to enter a vehicle inspection lane in the hope of entering Jerusalem.
A policeman ordered her to halt and when she ignored him, he fired a single shot in the air. She than halted and she was placed under arrest.
Both suspects were handed over to security authorities for questioning. Baruch Hashem there were no injuries to security forces at the checkpoint.
