Following the renewal of balloon bombs launched at Israel from Gaza this week, the IAF targeted and bombed a Hamas outpost along the border fence in the southern part of the Gaza Strip on Wednesday night.
Earlier in the day, an incendiary balloon bomb exploded while in mid-air over a farm in the Eshkol region. Farmers saw the balloon and witnesses the explosion.
Security forces from the region who were dispatched to the area were searching for additional devices and balloons in the area. Shortly after the first incident, a second bomb was found in an open field not too far away from the first. A police sapper was called in to dismantle the bomb.
These incident followed yesterday’s ballon bombing incident, which was the first such incident since Hamas agreed to cease using the devices in October. Two fires broke out because of the balloon on Tuesday, causing firefighters to rush to the area and put out the fire.
