There was a fatal vehicular accident on Route 60 in Shomron on Tuesday morning, in the Binyamin Regional Council near Yishuv Eli. Two Israeli-driven vehicles; a truck and sedan, collided head-on, resulting in two fatalities. The accident took place at about 6:00AM, in the northbound direction, from Gush Shilo towards Tapuach Junction.
Two residents of Yishuv Ofra were killed; Yossi Amichai Z”L and Uri Mendel Z”L. Yossi was married to Shoshana, nee Galant and Uri was married to Ra’anana, need Shiyuvitz. Yossi Amichai’s levaya began at 4:00PM from the yishuv’s main shul and the levaya of Uri began at 3:30PM from the New Pardes Chaim cemetery.
Amichai is mourned by his pregnant wife and two children.
Eldan Turgeman, 31, sustained injuries to his abdomen and extremities was transported to Hadassah Mt. Scopus Hospital in Jerusalem. After being checked in the emergency room, hospital spokesperson Hadar Elboim reported his condition to be moderate.
