A 43-year-old man was the victim of a Sunday morning stabbing attack in the southern Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo. The attack occurred at about 7:00AM on HaGanenet Street, with the victim explaining to authorities that an Arab attacked him with a knife. He sustained multiple wounds but remained conscious and alert at the time of treatment at the scene.
Magen David Adom transported the victim to the trauma unit of Shaare Zedek Medical Center with multiple stab wounds to his upper torso.
A manhunt is underway for the attacker, who fled the scene.
Shortly after his arrival, hospital spokesperson Shoham reported the victim is in serious condition from multiple stab wounds.
Police are continuing their probe into the attack, which now appears to be criminally motivated and not an act of terror. Police have yet to make a final determination regarding the motive.
